Have you ever thought, WHY is it that an oil brand is printed on the owner’s manual of a vehicle? What does the Oil brand have to do with the Vehicle manufacturer? Not much…
And if you read and understand the information on the owner’s manual, the vehicle manufacturer is only asking you, as the owner, to use an oil product (or substance) that meets the specifications put together by the engineers, but not to purchase an specific oil brand. The latter is merely a financial trade technique.
Our opinion is that if an oil (or substance) is used that exceeds the required specifications, then, the engine (or mechanical component) will be performing as optimally as possible. By using an oil that exceeds the requirements, the engine (or mechanical component) may very well last longer and perform more efficiently due to optimal maintenance.
Often there are Oils (or substances) that perform better for your Vehicle and/or piece of equipment vs. the brand printed or recommended on the owner’s manual.
100% of the Oils we carry meet with the standards of the API (American Petroleum Institute) and ILSAC (International Lubricants Standardization and Approval Committee). Many of our motor oils additionally meet the standards of the ACEA (Association des Constructeurs Européens d’Automobiles) which performance tests are arguably more stringent than the API and ILSAC standards.
For our Japanese vehicle manufacturer market our oils all meet the JAMA (Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association) standards as well as the JASO (Japanese Automotive Standards Organization).
